HMD IMEI check
Enter a HMD IMEI below to identify the exact model and validate its checksum. It is free, needs no account, and nothing is stored. We hold 64 HMD models across 242 registered TACs.
How to find the IMEI on a HMD phone
- Dial
*#06#on the phone's keypad — the IMEI appears immediately, and this works even if the device is locked. - Open Settings → About phone and look for *IMEI* or *Status*.
- Check the barcode label on the original box.
Dual-SIM models report two IMEIs, one per SIM slot. Both are valid and both share the same TAC, so either one identifies the model.
What an IMEI check can and cannot tell you about a HMD
The free check tells you
- • The manufacturer and model the IMEI belongs to.
- • Whether the 15 digits pass their checksum.
- • The TAC, serial and check-digit breakdown.
It cannot tell you
- • Whether the device is lost, stolen or blacklisted.
- • Whether it is carrier-locked or still under warranty.
- • Whether it is signed out of its previous owner's account.
Those last three live in carrier and police databases that are not public. Any free tool claiming to check them is guessing. The full explanation.

Device data comes from a public, manufacturer-publishable TAC dataset. It records which model a TAC belongs to and nothing else — no specifications, no release date, and no per-unit history. It may be incomplete or out of date.
